Horrible constant headaches

For the last 20 months now, I've been suffering from constant headaches, all day everyday.
Some days they when I'm lucky they are almost none existent, but I can still feel them there.
On my worst days it keeps me from doing my day to day activities, it feels like they completely cloud my mind and ability to think and concentrate, and I'm completely at a loss for what to do; I'm going to school in September and this is gonna be the death of me in school.

The things which make it worse are most drugs, caffeine and nicotine included, but I've completely cut both out of my diet.
I admit I use drugs more than I should, but even at times of a month clean from all drugs they are still there.
I've seen countless doctors, all my bloodwork, head scans, am everything checks out.
All those fuckers want to do is give me meds and push me out the fucking door.
I'm at my wits end here guys, it's made me horribly depressed and withdrawn, I find it impossible to even hold a decent conversation with people with this constant pain.

It may be a long shot but has anyone suffered anything like this and found a solution?

Out of curiosity, how much water do you drink a day? Be honest here, because that is likely the cause.

I can't imagine. You have my sympathies for sure. Of the doctors you've seen, were any of them a neurologist? If not, then you really should get a referral from a GP (the drug pusher type) to get an appointment with a professional (i.e. someone who works for a hospital, not a clinic) who knows how to diagnose you properly. I have no doubt there is a qualified neurologist out there who can find out for certain what is wrong with you, and you should be seeing them not asking us.

Yeah, I have the same but was misdiagnosed by the neurologist with migraines. It's actually nerve damage. There are actually over 180 different kinds of headaches. Don't even bother with a neuro, go straight to a headache clinic.

Water was definitely the first thing I tried.
I drink anywhere from half a liter to 2.5 liters a day, it hasn't made a difference
I am
Going to get a referral to a more qualified doctor but I'm from a very small town and was trying a few different things first, but when I go to school Im moving to a big city where I can actually get the help I need.
Morphling, out of curiosity what did the headache clinic do to help your nerve damage?
Or is it more learning ways to alleviate them as best you can
As well I'm seeing a sleep specialist as I sometimes have lots of problems with waking in the middle of the night, and I'm going to see him end of the month.
I'm going to ask him for a referral to a headache clinic

EDIT: just checked about headache doctors in this city, he just got suspended 6 months ago for inappropriate sexual relations with a patient... Awesome :(

Well, I was finally diagnosed correctly, so they could actually prescribe the correct treatments. For me it's taken physical therapy, and yes a lot of meds. But, I'm not ending up in emergent care all the time with 10/10 pain.

My pain has never been that painful, at its worst its like a terrible hangover tension type headache, but nevertheless it's extremely distracting
Thank you very much for your input though, it's nice to know other people had gone through this and have been helped

I don't know what is especially causing your headaches, whether it be drugs, diet, sleeplessness, posture or stress, but before taking drugs from a headache doctor, try looking at the natural options available. Better to look into the causes of the headache and do what you can to address those before taking more drugs which may harm you in the long run. I also recommend you look into herbs which may help such as ginger, chamomile, lemon balm, garlic and ginkgo. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23657930

Sounds like nerve pressure or high blood pressure. I get migraines due to nerve damage myself. My hydration levels have a lot to do with it normally. I drink about 2+ liters of water a day as I lead a somewhat active lifestyle. If I drink any less water my thinking gets foggy and I will start getting a migraine.

OP, are you currently on any medications that you take daily?
How old are you?
Do you have any health conditions other than the headaches?

Have you tried cutting gluten out of your diet? Two people I know have relieved themselves of their migraines by doing so. I get headaches from sinusitis, which had let up after I stopped putting things up my nose. The only thing that would help in that area was nasal irrigation and fasting.

Stop stressing bro!!, If you've had all the tests, chances are you're all good.

Good choice with the water , but half a litre is way too little, be consistent and make sure you get at least 2 litres of good water a day.
Have you considered making a daily food/drug/activity diary this helps to find what could be the cause or lead to flare ups.
Also it's hard to say without knowing what drugs and meds you're taking.
I've recently been suffering ridiculous headaches that would go on for days at a time and I finally figured it was being triggered about 2 days after going off a particular nerve pain med.

Really though there's very little most docs can do beside prescribe pills. This may sound new agey but I've suffered chronic pain for years and the best thing for both the pain and my quality of life has been a good diet, adequate sleep, exercise, relaxing and having a pastime/creative outlet.

Don't let yourself get in a funk, letting it consume you and become isolated and depressed isn't going to do you any favours, chances are there won't be a magic bullet to solve this so you might as well get on and start trying to enjoy your life.

^Err whats your point 71% of Americans are overweight 40% are fuckin obese, no doubt they don't exercise let alone drink enough water, the fact that most people have unhealthy habits is irrelevant.
The Institute of medicine recommends 3 litres of fluid daily for men, the MINIMUM recommendation is 8 glasses or about 1.9 litres, that's only one glass every 2 hours you're awake

Like exercising not everything that's good for you is easy and it's a lot easier to live an unhealthy lifestyle than a healthy one.

water is the essence of wetness, wetness is the essence of beauty

The minimum figures for the body's daily water loss are 500ml through urine and 700ml through breathing and sweating.
Doctors advise that to be on the safe side we should drink at least 1.2 litres of liquids (2.5 pints). So, remember, although water is essential, you don't need to become obsessed about drinking eight glasses a day!

If your piss is dark, drink more water.. If it's not, s'all good.

If you drink too much, your body will get rid of the excess, so you will pass urine more often and it will look almost clear.
'If you don't drink enough, your body will save water by concentrating your urine, which will look darker, and your brain will tell you that you need more water by making you feel thirsty.'

Okay so according to netdoctor the bare minimum intake for woman is 1.2, this is the minimum to survive not to thrive or to function optimally.

The average American drinks 1.2 litres a day and look how that's working out.

Anyway your advice isn't all good, wait till you're pissing dark to hydrate, that's like waiting to get diabetes before you stop eating candy. Certainly not a preventative or healthy approach.

8 glasses of fluid minimum isn't a myth and according to the National Institute of Health , the Institute of Medicine and the Mayo Clinic , not mention my urologist all recommend at least 3 litres.

lol.. no.. it's nothing like that.. most people will drink a certain amount of water naturally (the body is a good at pointing out when you need water by making you feel thirsty).. so if your piss is always dark.. consciously drink more water. If your piss is light / clear.. You are drinking enough.

sounds like severe cluster headaches of some sort. i feel for you completely, i get migraines and have gotten them for the past 24 years (since i was 7) hydration is a BIG trigger for me, as is alch, aged cheese and wine, (annything with moderate to high amounts of tyramine) bought this amazing spanish aged cheese this once and it gave me a migraine everytime i had it, i knew it was the cheese. have you been tested for celiacs? could be youre gluten sensitive. i know a lot of ppl who get bad headaches from gluten.

there is nothing worse than a migraine. i think id rather go thru opiate wd than have one. youre literally on the verge of putting a bullet in your head sometimes the pain gets so severe. id def consult a headache specialist (its probably going to be a neuro, and they will probably first do an MRI) for real, migraines are no joke, they can cause some damage if not treated accordingly. my old bupe dr actually had neurological symptoms from a migraine so severe she could move the left side of her body during an attack. hope you find something that works.

Thirst and urine color alone are not accurate measures of how much water you should drink. You should drink based on lean body mass and predicted activity levels.

Otherwise your going to beat the heck out of your liver and kidneys with your hydration levels constantly fluctuating into healthy and unhealthy ranges.

I weigh 205lbs with about 13BF%. On an active day I have to drink nearly two gallons, which is over two liters by more than just a little. If I do not drink at least two liters a day I feel like absolute garbage, and it shows in performance elsewhere as well.
